Oregon DUII Law – UA alcohol testing , why?
UA alcohol testing , why?
Ok, Ive read all 384 previously asked questions that were about UA tests. None answered my questions.....
Heres the facts. I got a DUII in Oregon ( tough state!!) . it was deserved, though I can HONESTLY say I feel strongly against drunk driving, and the last time was over 13 years ago in my stupid bar hopping days. Im on diversion , and part of that requires that I stay sober for 90 days. Can I? I know I can. Save money too LOL. But it just seems so Orwellian ( big brother) to me. I understand the reasoning.....suppposedly alot of folks that get DUIs are alcoholics, so the theory is that its helping us "convicts". Well, this "convict" in question really DOESNT drive drunk, and I know you answering folks will be saying "yeah right", but I know the truth.
It also appears from what Ive read that all DUI offenders are lumped into one catagory....."losers that deserve no rights".
So....why am I required to not drink at all, as I AM an adult....and hey, its not against the law. And also, I have a huge issue with going to the bathroom...I have to be alone even to "tinkle", I understand that some folks would cheat on a UA, but are there some considerations made for people who dont seem to be "at risk"? Its bad enough already being made to feel like a piece of ****....if I have to pee with someone watching me.....OMG! Yeah, in a bit of irony....the only time I didnt mind "tinkling" in front of someone was when I was a shitfaced youngster.
I almost, no I DO wish I could take a lie detector test on this......And I also hope that some law enforcement will answer!
I would really have no problem with having the device placed on my autos, that I have to blow in for it to start.( I dont need to, just saying....) Of course I wouldnt. But to be told that I cant have a beer in my home? Whats next? This stupid stupid one case of me driving drunk will already kill me financially. Do the alcohol evaluators do a good, honest job? Or are we all simply lumped into the bag of **** catagory from the get go?
And so I dont have to add this later....YEAH, I do like to drink. Actually LIKE isnt the word, since my 15 year old son committed suicide Ive drank to just get some sleep, I refuse sleeping pills. I know from the past month I can easily stop drinking , but I will stay up late and have nightmares of his brains splattered all over the walls . Il take a ruined liver over that repeated image. But I will not drive. I promise.
Ok so you might find the next few links interesting. These are from around the web, just random snippets that I've picked up in my reading, but I found some very cool information in them. You might too. Here goes...

Drug manufacturer ApotheCure and the Food and Drug Administration enacted an immediate recall of compounded Injectable Colchicine .5mg/ml, 4ml vials, lot number 20070122@26 due to three recent deaths in Oregon. ApotheCure, a pharmacy based in Texas, recently mistakenly made this batch of an already dangerous drug 10 times stronger than the label stated. Colchicine is an extremely toxic nitrogen-based medication used by doctors to treat a number of conditions such as:
o Gout: Gout is caused when uric acid builds up in the cartilage of the tendons or joints throughout the body, which inflames the tissues and results in immense pain. Colchicine gout treatment side effects are extremely dangerous unless the drug is administered carefully
o Secondary amyloidosis(AA): This condition occurs when protein deposits build up in the body
o Scleroderma: When collagen builds up the skin or other organs it can cause scleroderma, which can be fatal in some cases
o Familial Mediterranean fever: This autoimmune disease affects people with ancestry primarily from around the Mediterranean Sea, and affects a wide number of systems including the chest, lungs, skin, and abdomen.
This recall is very similar to a recall that occurred in 2000 when Phyne Pharmaceuticals of Scottsdale, Arizona accidentally labeled their injectable colchicine .5 mg/mL, but it was actually the far more potent and potentially fatal 5 mg/mL.
Three people in Oregon have already died due mislabeled compounded colchicine. Compounding is a process that pharmacies sometimes use to create medications for people that have certain conditions that prevent them from using standard drugs. ApotheCure Inc. compounded colchicine for the Oregon patients, but made it too strong. Colchicine is already extremely dangerous under the right conditions, but when it is used incorrectly it can be almost immediately life-threatening. ApotheCure Inc. initiated a recall in order to prevent more fatalities from occurring.
Colchicine poisoning side effects include:
o Fatigue
o Weakness
o Sore throat
o Rash
o Numbness
o Allergic reactions such as hives, swelling of lips/face/tongue, closing of throat, difficulty breathing
o Unsuspected bleeding and bruising
The most serious colchicine side effects include:
o Fetal damage in pregnant women
o Anemia,
o Respiratory failure
o Kidney failure
o Death
